The Wedding of Shelby and Ryan
Ryan and Shelby were first introduced to each other on June 21st, 2014 at Ashley and Rudy's engagement BBQ in Kansas City. Ashley has been a close friend of Shelby's since middle school, and Rudy - that's Ryan's identical twin. The following spring, Shelby and Ryan were reunited the weekend of the wedding.
"Shortly after I arrived to the rehearsal dinner, I came across Rod (Ryan's dad) and introduced myself. Before I knew it, he was introducing me to his friends as his future daughter-in-law. Talk about meant to be!" - Shelby
Several months after the wedding Shelby and Ryan struck up conversations through snap chat and texting until Ryan asked if he could call her. After several weeks of talking four hours away from each other, they were finally brought together in the Windy City! Shelby had planned a weekend trip to visit Ashley and Rudy in Chicago. Ryan ended up being easily persuaded to come along by the crew and booked his ticket right away! After a several hour flight delay due to some pretty questionable weather, Shelby arrived to their apartment around 1:30am to find Ryan waiting up for her.
Sparks flew. It didn't take much time at all to know they were each others' missing piece. Since that perfect weekend in mid-September, the rest is history! Over the next year, they traveled back and forth from Kansas City and St. Louis to spend the weekends, birthdays, holidays, and go on vacations with each other.
