Sam and Avery’s story began at a grad school orientation BBQ, where a nervous joke about potato salad and a laugh from across the line changed everything. Drawn together by late-night conversations and Avery’s rare blend of drive, compassion, and easy grace, falling in love came naturally, and Sam still counts himself lucky she said “I love you” first.
