The Wedding of McKenzie and Greg
Greg asked McKenzie out to dinner followed by music. He quickly changed the ramen place to a sushi restaurant after learning of her gluten free diet. The evening was full of laughs and great conversation, ending at Greg's favorite jazz bar in LA, the Blue Whale. The conversation continued over phone calls and texts, and in person dates whenever their schedules allowed.
They had dates in multiple cities, even had an early morning date in the LAX delta terminal before both flying off to different states. Then they planned trips together to visit friends and family, from Mexico to Australia to the Republic of Georgia, and their travels together are far from over!
The Proposal:
McKenzie and Greg, as two lovers of adventure, had to get creative for quarantine approved hobbies during 2020. Taking weekend trips down to Monterey to scuba dive became a regular routine. For Halloween weekend, Greg suggested they carve pumpkins underwater. As crazy as that sounds, it was tons of fun and the fish appreciated the extra snack!
The dive site was called Lover's Point. Down around 30ft deep, as McKenzie went to work carving a face into her pumpkin, Greg was carving something else entirely. When he flipped his pumpkin around, she saw he had carved a diamond ring into the side. He held it out with a sign that said, "Be my forever dive buddy? Will you marry me?".
